The Social Media Club at Texas State has chosen three basic forms of social media to recruit new members as well as connect with their own. President Joe Trevino said that right now Twitter is hot but it could be something else later, which is what he loves about social media.
The club had the honor of sponsoring three events during Mass Comm week at Texas State and had live tweets as each event happened so be sure to look at their Twitter for great quotes from several speakers. On their Facebook you will notice pictures from these events and links to the Mass Comm Week website which had the full schedule and bios for each of the speakers. The Social Media Club Blog has the most to offer with summaries of each event along with pictures and even videos that readers can see in case they didn't get the chance to go to a particular event.
Instagram, Tumblr and Pinterest are new internet sites that have sparked the interests of many Texas State students but for now the Social Media Club is sticking to Facebook, Twitter and the Blog about their club. Once they gain new members they will most likely be able to branch out in the future semesters so we encourage you to consider being a part of this great organization.
